Is it possible to add a Shape3D that is constantly rotating into a widget and also Like a camera attached to the back of the car showing the view. Or is there a better way and easier way to accomplished this. Can anybody help me on this ? Any examples in xith-tk ?

I know that I remember seeing an example of this in xith-tk.  One of the model loaders showed a soldier (or something similar) with a camera that had a front-mounted flashlight.  The camera could move around the scene and whatever the camera saw was displayed on the HUD.

I'm not really sure, if I understand this correctly. But what you might be looking for, is the Widget3D. It controls a RenderPass, so that its viewport is always at the Widget's size and location. The RenderPass can of course display anything you want.

The other questions sounds like a rear mirror view. You can do this through render-to-texture. There are examples for this in xith-tk.

I think he's asking where he can find a camera attached to the back of an avatar so that he can create a car's rearview mirror.  I thought I remembered seeing a xith-tk test (described in my previous post) that could be turned into what he wants.

I don't remember a testcase like that. But the technique to do that is using a View to render to a texture and display that texture somewhere in the "main scene". But maybe I still misunderstood.

Marvin, I think you have it correct.

Elijah, did our discussion of what you need to do make sense?

Hi guys,

Just came back from Chinese New Year. Wish you all a happy Chinese New Year. Both method "the Widget3D" and the "camera mounted on the back" is what I'm looking for. I will try the widget3D first. How come no JavaDoc on the Widget3D ? I manage to find it under xith3d svn project.

Thanks you very much for your help
