I have generally disabled VBOs for Intel graphics cards, since they don't seem to support them. Please test, if there are any crashes on Intel cards when VBOs are or should be used.

How do I disable VBO in a test?

Do you have an ATI card? IF not, it is not necessary. But you can simply disable them through the RenderOptions.

Some Intel cards only support partially VBO, only glGenBuffers and glBindBuffer.
