I just finished implementing a new parser for collada files.  Marvin said that he saw a speedup, but the main reason for the switch was to remove jibx.  The change of parser will also make new features easier to implement.

If you're using what's in the SVN repository, and using the collada loader.  Give it a try.  If you notice your models aren't working with the new parser, upload an example to this thread (if the file it too big put it somewhere else and link to it here).  I'll take a look at it as soon as I can, and hopefully get to back to a working state.

Don't upload models that you would like to work in Xith3D.  I would like to only deal with bugs introduced by the change.  Depending on the number of models that need fixing will determine the amount of time before another thread for getting models working that previously did not work with the Xith3D COLLADA parser.

I just tried the collada parser today with a few collada files and it looks like instance_node tags are not parsed. I think sketchup uses those quite a lot. instance_node instantiates nodes from library_nodes.

If you attach the file, or post it somewhere online that I can get it from.  I'd be able to work on it when I have time to work on the importer again.  Which should happen sometime in December.

I do have files with instance_node tags in them, but it never hurts to have another test case.

It was just a few random COLLADA files from 3dvia. For example this one.

The collada syntax looked ok when I opened it in an XML browser, just that it used library_nodes which was not loaded with the loader. I guess that you just didn't have time to implement it :-)
